چکیده

We perform physical therapy combined with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in stroke patients hemiplegia the maintenance phase intent of improving support paralyzed leg. In gait evaluation hemiplegia, it is important to assess elements related coordination carefully. rTMS effective alleviating tension upper limbs. As helps upper-limb swing become evident during gait, makes trunk rotation necessary for left–right appear more easily. a result, has potential improved or rotation. Post-rTMS may prepare environment suitable hip extending stance side. therapy, advisable practice standing up, maintaining posture walking by making good use these effects. conduct practices combination following: up focusing on load evenly distributed both sides, slant-board training, which enables forward shift center mass, fixating limbs back body side, and increasing It also discuss injection botulinum toxin, suppresses spasticity ankle plantar flexors physician. Gait associated variety factors significant intrapatient interpatient variations. this regard, physiotherapists are required develop treatment program based quantitative evaluation, especially, hemiplegia.

Combined treatment of botulinumtoxin and robot-assisted rehabilitation therapy on poststroke, upper limb spasticity

RATIONALE Spasticity is a major complication after stroke, and botulinumtoxin A (BoNT-A) injection is commonly used to manage focal spasticity. However, it is uncertain whether BoNT-A can improve voluntary motor control or activities of daily living function of paretic upper limbs. This study investigated whether BoNT-A injection combined with robot-assisted upper limb therapy improves voluntar...

Combined transcranial direct current stimulation and robotic upper limb therapy improves upper limb function in an adult with cerebral palsy

BACKGROUND Robotic therapy can improve upper limb function in hemiparesis. Excitatory transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can prime brain motor circuits before therapy. OBJECTIVE We tested safety and efficacy of tDCS plus robotic therapy in an adult with unilateral spastic cerebral palsy (USCP). METHODS In each of 36 sessions, anodal tDCS (2 mA, 20 min) was applied over the motor...

Combined transcranial magnetic stimulation and right unilateral electroconvulsive therapy in patients with treatment-refractory depression.

Dear Editor: Treating patients with refractory depression is a common challenge for psychiatrists. There are several reasons for this. First, a substantial portion of patients starting pharmacologic treatment either fail to respond or cannot tolerate the drug (1,2). Even among responders to anti-depressants, residual symptoms are common (3) and have been shown to be associated with a greater li...

The effect of low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on the treatment of aphasia caused by cerebrovascular accident (CVA)

Background: Aphasia is a common outcome of Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) in which clinical interventions have limited effectiveness. Some evidence suggests that noninvasive stimulation of the brain can have beneficial effects in the treatment of CVA induced aphasia. In patients with motor aphasia, repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is used to facilitate long-term improvement i...
